How It Works Our Commitment to Transparency

Change.org recognizes that there are thousands of civic-minded individuals who have built large, engaged followings dedicated to their advocacy—often investing significant time, energy, and emotional labor without any compensation or structural support.

Change Ambassadors was created to change that. This new program from Change.org supports public figures, creators, and community leaders who use their platforms to drive meaningful social change. Through upfront payments, performance-based compensation, and strategic guidance, the program helps participants launch and grow sponsored petitions on the issues that matter most to them and their communities. Change Ambassadors is for individuals with engaged audiences who are committed to creating impact and amplifying authentic campaigns that inspire real action. Change.org recognizes that influence takes many forms. Beyond traditional creators or celebrities, we welcome organizers, caregivers, and community advocates who have built trusted online followings and use their platforms to mobilize others. At its core, this program provides structure, visibility, and resources to help a wide range of leaders expand their impact.

How It Works

  1. In order to be considered for selection, Change Ambassadors must have an engaged audience of 100,000+ across active social media channels, podcasts, and/or newsletters.
  2. Change Ambassadors choose the issue, write, and publish their own petition on any given subject within our Community Guidelines.
  3. Change Ambassadors earn an upfront payment based on their audience size and have an opportunity to earn additional income based on petition performance.
  4. Change.org offers strategic petition advice when applicable to Change Ambassadors and other high-performing petition starters. All petitions on the platform have opportunities for amplification.

Our Commitment to Transparency

  • Every paid campaign includes a disclosure: “This is a sponsored petition.”
  • Change Ambassadors retain full ownership of their message and content.
  • Change.org never shares personal user data including email addresses or payment information.
  • All petitions are reviewed prior to publication for clarity and adherence to community guidelines.
